I use an integrated approach in my counselling, making sure that I tailor sessions to meet individual client’s needs.  As an Integrative Therapist my practice draws on many different counselling approaches: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Creative Counselling and Existential Models.  I believe that alongside finding the right therapist, supporting the client in a method that best suits their needs is paramount.

 

I also believe that by improving our understanding of how humans work, we can identify more easily what is happening as we hold on to our problems. There are different parts to your personality: the one that hurts and holds the pain; the one that tries to do the right thing and the one that is destructive and sabotages us when things are actually going well. I can help you to identify these parts, enabling you to take control of them and utilise them efficiently. I can also help you to understand how our 'flight and fight' responses can keep us stuck in negative cycles.
